DESCRIPTION:

Path of Giants is a serene puzzle game through icy caverns and snow covered cliffs that puts you in control of three explorers on their quest for a lost treasure. Each level requires you to use teamwork between the explorers to help them solve the puzzles, putting an interesting and unique twist on a puzzle adventure game.

Each level is carefully designed and hand-crafted to create chillingly beautiful scenes, and together combined with a charming original score composed by Clark Aboud, who also composed for games like Slay the Spire, and Kind Words, evokes a sense of calm as you explore this long forgotten area of the world.

The game is inspired by the developers love of puzzles, particularly the “ah ha” moment that triggers when the way to solve something becomes apparent and you know exactly what you need to do. With the design, the goal was to capture the essence of a vast area encapsulated within this mountain world that’s been hidden from humanity for so long. With background areas that feel giant in contrast to how small the characters and puzzles are.

About the Developers:

Path of Giants is the first release by Journey Bound Games, a creative duo that has decided to venture into game development for their love of storytelling and playing games.

Hi, we are Andrew and Hana, the dev team behind Path of Giants!
We are a married couple who share a love for video games and most of our date nights were spent taking turns eating pizza and playing games, so we decided it would be equally fun to try to make one together.

We wanted to create a puzzle game that would be a complete and calming experience. There's no death, no pressure or race against time in Path of Giants and anyone of any gaming skill level could potentially play it and have fun!

Andrew is the puzzle master, animator and the technical wizard of Journey Bound Games. He has worked on countless projects across film and television, his latest being a Lead Animator on Spider-Man: Far from Home. With his flair for logical and practical approaches he was pulled towards programming and is the backbone for the creation of Path of Giants. That is, after he’s played a few rounds of Overwatch.

Hana has always surrounded herself in stories that are rich in lore and world building. Whether it was imagining the world of Harry Potter or late night Ragnarok sessions, her influences naturally led her to a path of visual artistry. Journey Bound Games is the evolution of her years of experience crafting animated promos, her love of narratives, and desire to push her art to the next level. She is the resident character modeler/level designer/llama lover.
